This Garden Centre / Retail Sales Assistant role is specifically aimed at ensuring Globe Mitre 10 Garden Centre customers have a great shopping experience.  We require people with a passion for retail with great customer services skills, exceptional personal presentation and the flexibility to do weekend work.  You will be required to work quickly, efficiently and with a professional attitude in a very busy environment. Some of your duties include but are not limited to:

• Manage maintenance of stock and site including watering, weeding, cleaning, pruning and general site maintenance, whilst ensuring a clean and tidy work environment.
• Pest & disease identification and treatment as required.
• Assist in all aspects of the day-to-day running of nursery.
• Understanding of common gardening practices.
• Customer service and Greenlife sales.
• Responsible for stock management; Greenlife ordering/purchasing.

1. The person we are looking for is someone who firstly has experience with gardening and plant care, retail sales and strong customer communication skills are a must.
2. Must have good knowledge on a large variety of plants including indoors, natives, fruit trees, general nursery plants.
3. Physically fit.
4. Whilst we consider this to be a Horticulturally based role, we are a retail business and we need consistent upbeat energy and a love for talking to people about plants and gardening.
5. Excellent plant, pest, disease and condition identification and the ability to provide solutions.
6. Self motivated and the ability to think on your feet.

This Retail & Trade Sales Assistant role is specifically aimed at ensuring Globe Mitre 10 customers and trades people have a great shopping experience.  We require people with a passion for retail with great customer services skills, exceptional personal presentation and the flexibility to do weekend work.  You will be required to work quickly, efficiently and with a professional attitude in a very busy environment. Some of your duties include but are not limited to:

• Perform customer sales and service transactions which includes accurately handling and processing cash, cheques, credit cards. EFTPOS, ZipPay, Afterpay & Humm.
• Proactively engage customers in sales, answer any product queries, source and place orders for customers and follow through to payment and customer pickup or delivery.
• Assist unpacking pallets of stock in the Goods Receiving area.
• Actively promote products and services.
• Measure and cut timber and trims as required.
• Ensure your stock items are organised, prices clearly displayed on your shelves/area, rotate stock on shelves to ensure high standard of presentation and ensure stock is at optimum levels.
• Tint paint, cut keys and any other retail associated tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
